Visit the events in Chile and Serbia

You can still visit some of the post events of the Intersection project - eight Boxes in Santiago a Mil Festival in Chile and three projects in Belgrade. You can also plan to see the entire Krétakor´s Trilogy Crisis in March or Josef Nadj´s Untitled in Bogota Festival.

Record Attendance in the PQ 2011

The world's largest performance design event ended up after eleven day on June 26th, 2011. During those eleven days over 40,000 visitors enjoyed exhibitions, installations, lectures and performances at the Veletržní Palace - National Gallery, Prague Crossroads, Piazzetta of the National Theatre and other places in Prague - a couple of thousands more than during the last Prague Quadrennial, four years ago. E-scenography, a new online service

Become an online scenographer using the E-scenography service!

E-scenography is an online service created by the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space within the Intersection project.

E-scenography aims to create an informational community to discuss issues connected to scenography, including all performance design disciplines, theatre architecture, and space. Join in!

E-scenography provides 3 services:

  • the newsletter IntersectionS –you can post information about scenography / performance design projects (performances, exhibitions, symposia, books, etc.) – to be distributed  to the E-scenography mailing list (currrently about 10 000 email addresses).
  • the Scenography Education service (the art school database) – you can search for a school connected to performance design and architecture (currently about 200 schools profiles) and active employees of schools can add or edit information about their school in the list.
     
  • the Scenography Expanding service (an online library) – you can upload and download texts and other materials connected to scenography theoretical and historical discourse.

E-scenography´s content is created by you, the scenographers: stage, costume, sound, and lighting designers, teachers, curators, and theorists. Join in!

The services are available for registered users only - it is free of charge.

Sound designers: call for entries - deadline 30.11.

The next Prague Quadrennial includes an important Light & Sound project.   

Within the project, our Sound Curator Mr. Steven Brown invites composers and sound designers to join the Sound Kitchen and offer ideas for 15/20 minute pieces to be played, or activated, live by them using a laptop computer, and/or any other type of mobile device (eg iPod. iPad, mobile telephone, cassette recorder!).

Josef Bolf preparing his Intersection box - pictures!

Czech artist Josef Bolf will occupy one of the 30 Intersection boxes at the next PQ. The preparation of his box started with the shooting of a puppet film in Karlin Studios, Prague - puppets made by Bára Čechová, performed by actors from Cakes and Puppets, camera Darko Štulic. See the pictures!

Architecture Open Lab - Call for Participants

The Architecture Section of the 2011 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, asking “what is a theatre now and what could it be next?” will include also an Open Laboratory where selected participants will collaborate and work with renowned international experts in theatre architecture, theory, and design to propose alternative models for citing performance.

Deadlines for Open Laboratory:
